Description
Nos. 7 and 8 Crown Street are a pair of houses built between 1865 and 1867. They are constructed of red brick with cement dressings and feature a slate roof with a wide plain eaves soffit. The buildings rise to three storeys and have a five-window range, with all windows being sashes that include a single vertical glazing-bar set in deep reveals with flat cement arches. The houses have chamfered cement rusticated quoins and cement bands that run between the storeys. The entrance features two panelled doors with plain rectangular fanlights, set within doorcases that have plain pilasters and heavy entablatures. The interior has not been inspected. These houses are included for their group value in the street scene.
