Description
Nos. 5 and 6 Crown Street are a pair of houses, now used as offices, built between 1865 and 1867. They are constructed of red brick and feature a slate roof with plain eaves soffit. The buildings rise to three storeys and have a six-window range, with sashes that include a single vertical glazing-bar set in shallow reveals, topped with flat cement arches. A stucco band runs between each storey. The central doorcase is made of cement and has plain pilasters along with a heavy fascia and cornice, now housing two fully-glazed doors from the late 20th century. The roof features four flat-headed dormers and there are chimney stacks at each end. The interior has not been inspected. These buildings are included for their group value within the street scene.
