Description
No. 50 Crown Street is a house built in 1840. It features a brick and render exterior with a slate roof that has a wide, plain eaves overhang. The building is three storeys high and includes a cellar, situated on a corner site with a return front to Chequer Square.
The façade has three window ranges, all of which are small-paned sashes. The ground and first-storey windows have semicircular arched heads with radiating glazing bars and are set into deep semicircular-headed reveals. The larger first-storey windows are also positioned within outer semicircular-arched recesses. On the second storey, there are 9-pane sash windows in plain reveals. The central door features four sunk panels and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars, all set in a plain arched surround.
On the Chequer Square side, there is a single window on each storey that matches the windows on the main front. The first-storey window on this side has a cast-iron balcony with palmette decoration. The interior has not been inspected.
