A row of 3 houses and shops, now entirely commercial, with 2 shops on the ground storey and the upper storey made into one. Early C18. Timber-framed and rendered; slate roof with steep pitch, wood modillion eaves cornice and moulded plaster frieze. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and cellars, formerly with attics. 8 window range: all sashes in flush cased frames, 5 with 12 panes, 3 at the west end narrower, 8-paned. 6 segmental headed lead-covered dormers have 6-pane sashes with vertical glazing bars only. 3 double shop fronts to the ground storey with central entries, 2 late C19, that to No.33 a late C20 replacement in matching style. The fronts to No.32 have projecting bases to the windows. INTERIOR: ceiling timbers exposed within the ground storey: chamfered main beams, joists set on edge; one blocked former corner fireplace. 6 bays. The upper storey is approached through the adjacent C20 shop to the west and is used as part of their premises. The timbers are all exposed inside, including the roof timbers, the upper ceilings having been removed. Clasped purlin roof. The framing is sparse, with some reused components.
