Description

A group of four churchyard monuments located in Bury St Edmunds.

MON 282 is a headstone made of Ketton stone, dating from 1754, commemorating Mary Carpenter (1754), William Hammond (1794), and Ann, wife of William Hammond (1789). It features two winged angel heads, which are very worn.

MON 283 is another headstone from the 18th century, also made of Ketton stone, dedicated to John Warren, and is decorated with scrolls.

MON 284 is a headstone from the 18th century, made of Ketton stone, but has no legible inscription. It includes a winged hourglass.

MON 285 is a headstone from 1789, made of Ketton stone, honoring Thomas Warren (1815), his wife Sophia (1789), their daughter Sophia (1768), and their daughter Elizabeth Charlotta (1767). This monument is wide, featuring a double inscription panel and a winged angel head.
