Description
This is a pair of estate cottages dating from the mid-19th century, located opposite Deehouse on Bury Road in Barnham. The cottages are one-and-a-half storeys high and built in a traditional style, featuring a slightly projecting wing at each end. They are constructed from random kidney flint with rusticated white brick dressings and have plain tiled roofs. The gables are adorned with fluted barge-boards and finials.
There are three large internal chimney stacks made of white brick, each with plain rectangular shafts and corbelled-out heads that include a dentil course. The windows are small-paned casements, with three lights on the ground floor and two lights on the upper floor. Above the upper windows in the central section of the front, there is a row of three gablets that have matching barge-boards. The cottages feature two entrance doors, each with small lean-to porch roofs; one door is located on the north side, while the other is on the side front next to the south wing.
