Description
Kristie is an estate cottage built around 1840. It is two storeys high and constructed from black knapped flint, featuring red brick quoins and dressings, topped with a slate roof. The building has two internal chimney-stacks, one with two red brick barrel shafts and the other with four.
There are two 2-light casement windows with ornamental cast-iron tracery in the upper lights, along with similar 3-light windows in each gable end. Above the front windows on the upper storey, there are two recessed terracotta panels decorated with diaper patterns, and a diamond-shaped panel in the apex of each gable.
The cottage has an enclosed central gabled porch covered with fishscale slates, featuring an arched doorway. The inner door consists of six raised fielded panels. The porch and gables are adorned with pierced and fluted bargeboards.
At the corners of the house, there are short curved sections of high rubble flint wall with white brick copings that connect to the main wall leading to Fornham House. Each side of the cottage has an arched doorway; the one on the north side is blocked, while the south side features a plank door with ornamental ironwork.
