Description
Stone Cottages is an estate cottage built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from rubble flint with yellow brick dressings and features a slate roof. The building stands two storeys tall with a symmetrical entrance front consisting of two bays. The central doorway on the ground floor has a 4-centered arch and the door itself is divided into three panels with interlacing tracery at the top. Flanking the doorway are two 2-light windows with 4-centred heads, Y-tracery, and casement windows. On the first floor, there are two similar windows. The corners of the building and the window surrounds are accented with yellow brick quoins. The hipped roof is topped with a central square chimney stack that has four pots. The right flank of the building has blank walling, while the left flank features one semi-circular window at ground floor level. At the rear, there are two doors at the centre on the ground floor, with a 3-light cambered-headed window to the right and two 2-light windows to the left. On the first floor, there is a 3-light window on the left and a 2-light window on the right, both with cambered heads.
