Description
Coach House Cottages is a former coach house that has been converted into two cottages. It dates from the 18th or 19th century or earlier, with alterations made around 1903, likely by W Kemp, and further changes in the 20th century. The building is constructed of red Flemish bond brick and has a plain tile roof.
The garden front features a central doorway with a moulded four-centred brick surround and a hoodmould. On either side of the doorway are two-light windows with ovolo-moulded brick surrounds, which are consistent across all ground floor windows on this front. At the far right and left, there are similar four-light windows. The attic level includes three three-light hipped dormer windows, and there are ridge stacks of brick with moulded caps and vertical bands at both ends and on either side of the center.
At the center of the ridge is a bellcote with a square lower body covered in lead, a timber arcade above, and a copper ogee cap on top, which originally featured a weathervane. To the right of the main front, there is a slightly recessed early 20th-century single-storey addition that includes two four-light ovolo-moulded windows. The style of the 1903 alterations closely resembles that of Wood Hall.
