21 Abbeygate Street is a former house and shop, now functioning as a shop with storage above. It dates from the early 19th century and has later rear extensions. The building is timber-framed and roughcast, topped with a slate roof featuring a paired modillion cornice. It stands three storeys tall with a cellar. The upper storeys have two small-paned sash windows in cased frames, while the ground storey features a late 20th-century shop front. Inside, the cellar walls are made of flint rubble with some re-used stone blocks.
