Description

14 and 15 Buttermarket is a single building from the early 19th century, divided into two shops on the ground floor with living accommodation above. It is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a slate roof featuring a paired modillion eaves soffit and an internal chimney stack with a plain white brick shaft. The building has four windows on the top storey, which are sashes with a single vertical bar in flush cased frames. The first storey has irregularly set windows, including two with tall casements and two with single-bar sashes, all in heavy cased frames. The ground storey features two late 20th-century shop fronts. This building is part of a significant group in Buttermarket and is included for its group value.
