Description
REDGRAVE HALF MOON LANE (NORTH TM 0477 SIDE) 5/78 - Ash Tree Cottage GV II House, formerly a public house. Early C17, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame, plastered. Steeply pitched black glazed pantiled roof. 3 cell cross entry plan. 1 storey and attic. Entrance to left of centre in cross entry position, a half glazed architraved door in a C20 gabled porch, 2 and 3-light glazing bar casements with hoodboards, 2-light glazing bar gabled dormers to centre and to right. Axial ridge stack to right of centre between hall and parlour, rebuilt cap. Gable end exposed plates and purlins, an architraved boarded door to right. To rear a boarded cross entry door, brick and clay lump pantiled lean-to outshuts. Interior: frame concealed, jowled storey posts simply moulded in parlour, stop chamfered cross axial binding beams, chamfered joists. First floor not inspected. Formerly known as the Half Moon Public House.
