Description

Norcon is a house that was formerly a public house, built in the early 18th century and converted into a private residence in the 20th century. The structure features a roughcast timber frame set on a tarred brick plinth and has a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The entrance is through a four-panelled door located to the left of centre, with the upper two panels glazed and a plain timber doorcase. On either side of the door, there is a three-light 19th-century casement window. To the right, there is a fixed window that replaced the second public house doorway during the 20th century, followed by another three-light 19th-century casement. The first floor is illuminated by three two-light early 20th-century casement windows. The gabled roof has an external stack on the east gable, with lean-to oven extensions on either side, and there are 19th-century rear outshuts.

Inside, the passageway from the door features a wainscoted dado, with various 20th-century partitions. The timber frame includes jowled principal posts and chamfered bridging beams with tongue stops. One room on the west side of the ground floor incorporates a mid-16th-century wave-moulded bridging beam.
