Description

Fairview is a house, which was later divided into two dwellings. It dates from the late 17th century but has origins from the late 16th century and was altered in the 20th century. The building has a timber frame that is plastered, and it features a thatched roof. It consists of two bays with a central stack; the right bay was originally part of an earlier house to the right, known as No.1 Fairview. The house has one storey and an attic. There are boarded doors at both ends, a transomed four-light part opening metal frame casement window to the right, and a two-light glazing bar casement window to the left. Additionally, there are two two-light pantiled dormers. A central ridge stack is present, and the left end shows exposed plates and purlins. At the rear, there is a continuous clay lump and pantiled lean-to outshut with a truncated stack on the left. Inside, the frame features through tension bracing with small scantling, and the right bay retains earlier fragments with edge halved scarf joints in the wallplates.
