Description
Heyden House is an early 19th-century house on Lambseth Street. It is built of red brick with a slate roof. The two-storey, three-window front features a central six-panelled and fielded door set within a doorcase with reeded engaged quarter columns supporting a reeded pulvinated frieze. There are punched roundels in block entablatures, and the door has panelled reveals and a hood. The windows are 8/8 unhorned recessed sash windows with gauged skewback arches. A smaller six/six sash window sits above the door. The eaves are mutulated, and the gabled roof has two stacks on the rear slope. The rear of the property includes a plastered and whitewashed full-length outshut, along with three gabled, two-storey extensions added in the late 19th century. The interior features boxed bridging beams and a stick-baluster staircase with a ramped handrail.
