Description
Albion House is a 17th-century timber-framed house with a late 18th-century brick facade, located on Lambseth Street in Eye. The roof is covered with black-glazed pantiles and the building has a two-storey facade featuring a three-window range. There is a plinth course and pilaster strips at the corners of the elevation. The entrance consists of a four-panelled and fielded door topped by a rectangular overlight, which has glazing in the shape of three elongated octagons, and is sheltered by a hood on consoles. To the left of the door, there is one 8/8 unhorned sash window, and to the right, there are two similar sashes. The first floor also has three matching sash windows. All of these sashes are early 19th-century additions and feature rendered and painted skewback arches. The house has a gabled roof with a partly external gable-end stack on the south side. At the rear, there is a two-storey plastered and colourwashed wing that has double timber doors on the north side and a 6/6 horned sash window on the first floor. An internal gable-end stack is located on the east side. The interior has not been inspected.
