Farmhouse, mid C16 with alterations of early C17. 3-cell plan. 2 storeys. Timber-framed and plastered. Glazed pantiled roof with an external end chimney of C17 red brick to left and an axial chimney with C19 rebuilt shaft. 3-light casements of C19 at 1st storey, C20 replacements with transomes below. Early C19 6-panelled entrance door, the upper pair of panels glazed; C19 glazed plaintiled porch, plain heavy C16 framing exposed internally: a massive chamfered binding beam in the hall and an arch-braced tiebeam at the open truss above. Crownpost roof, the central crown post being square and chamfered. Wide lintelled open fireplace in the hall with narrow buff bricks. In early C17 a fine well staircase was placed in the rear of the cross passage, with closely-spaced turned balusters, square newels with complex moulded finials. In C18/C19 the front roof slope was reduced in pitch after the raising of the front wall by about a metre. Shown as Green Farmhouse on map.
