Description
Honeypot Hall Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the early to mid 17th century. It is timber-framed and encased in random knapped flint, with some areas featuring stone blocks. The quoins and dressings are made of Tudor red brick, while the upper parts of the gables are finished in 18th-century red brick above the tie-beams. At the rear, there is a short 18th-century timber-framed and rendered wing, flanked by lean-to extensions that have roofs continuing the slope of the main roof, covered with 20th-century shingles. The building has two storeys and attics, with a main range designed in a two-cell lobby-entrance form. The internal chimney stack has a plain rebuilt red brick shaft.
There are three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all of which are 20th-century two-light standard casements set in the original Tudor brick surrounds with segmental arched heads. A 20th-century gabled enclosed half-glazed porch leads to the entrance door. Inside, the structure features widely spaced studding and plain chamfered main beams that are exposed. One fireplace has a plain timber lintel. The roof of the main range includes clasped side purlins and principals, while the rear range has a similar roof design but with a ridge-piece. The rear lean-tos are harder to date due to the flint walling and Tudor brick dressings that cover them, showing no clear signs of an obvious join.
