Description
Royal Oak House and Seagull Cottage is a house that was formerly a public house and two cottages, dating from the early 19th century. The building is timber-framed and features 20th-century rendering with incised panels, including a high relief, colored oak tree on the front. It has a roof covered with double roman tiles and stands two storeys tall. There are two internal chimney stacks with plain shafts made of old red brick.
On the upper floor, there are four three-light casement windows, each with two horizontal bars in the lights, along with one small single-light window that has cross glazing bars. The ground floor has five three-light casement windows; two of these have a single bar in the lights, while the others have three horizontal bars. Access is provided by a simple plank door located up a flight of brick steps, as well as another entrance door on the left gable end. The building is included for its group value.
