Description

Oxbridge Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse, built in two phases. It is timber-framed and has a roughcast rendered exterior, with a roof of corrugated asbestos sheeting. The house is two storeys and has an attic. A jettied front gable projects, supported by plain brackets. The original design comprised two main rooms, with a lower section added to the rear. Most of the casement windows date to the mid-20th century, although some older windows are located in the front gable end. A lobby entrance has a 20th-century door. The house contains an internal stack. Above the front fireplace on the first floor is a small painted plaster panel depicting Adam and Eve with the serpent coiled around a tree. Some good sections of exposed timber framing are visible within the house.
