Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with a small addition likely from the 18th century on the right gable end. It is timber framed and features mid-20th century plasterwork, along with a band of pargetting across the front. The roof is covered with modern plain tiles. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a three-cell form with scattered windows.

On the ground floor, there are two notable three-light ovolo-moulded mullion and transom windows, which have moulded sills and pedimented heads decorated with dentils; these are likely early 17th century additions. Several original windows have been uncovered, while others remain blocked; the ground floor mullions are ovolo-moulded, and those on the upper floor are chamfered. There are also some mid-20th century casements. The entrance features a lobby with a 19th century six-panel door, where the upper two panels are glazed. Inside, there is a particularly fine fully-exposed frame with much close studding. The storey posts in the hall have elaborately-shaped heads, while those in the parlour have crudely-carved faces serving as corbels; both sets of posts support ovolo-moulded bridging beams with chamfered joists. On the rear wall opposite the stack, there is a blocked doorway with a four-centre arched head. In the service chamber, there are some early, possibly original, window shutter slides and two sliding oak shutters.
