Description
Broadway Hall is a 16th-century farmhouse that was restored around 1964. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a plain tiled roof, standing two stories high with an attic. The building has a three-cell layout and includes four mid-20th century casement windows. The central entrance, also from the mid-20th century, has a six-panel raised and fielded door, flanked by sidelights and topped with a flat hood. There are five flush rooflights and an internal stack with a plain rebuilt shaft.
At the rear (east) of the building is a two-story gabled addition from the 16th century, likely a porch, which contains an original window with heavy square mullions. Inside, the hall features fine heavy studding and massive lintels over the hall and parlour fireplaces. There are three doorways in the hall with four-centre arched heads, along with some 16th-century doors. A tall cupboard on the first floor has an 18th-century door with three carved raised and fielded panels. The roof is constructed with clasped and butt purlins, and long arched braces that meet at the center. The property is surrounded by a medieval moat.
