Description
Hemm Dinn and Cherrywood is a former farmhouse that has been converted into two cottages. It has a 14th-century core with a late 16th-century addition and alterations that created a three-cell house, along with 19th-century modifications. The building is timber framed and encased in 19th-century red brick, topped with a pantiled roof. It stands two stories high with an attic and features four windows, which are 19th and 20th-century casements set under segmental arches. There are two doorways with 20th-century doors, and a third doorway on the right side has been bricked up. Inside, there is an internal stack. Hemm Dinn includes a 14th-century range that has been raised by over one meter, likely when the right-hand cell was added. The upper section of the earlier house displays a stop-splayed scarf joint. Notable elements include some good exposed framing and floor structure, primarily within Hemm Dinn.
