Description

Coronation Cottage is a house dating from the early or mid 16th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century. It is a two-storey building. The timber frame is covered with roughcast plastering, with the upper floor projecting as a jetty towards the street. The roof is covered with plain tiles. There is a small-pane sash window on the ground floor and a small-pane casement window above, both dating from the mid 19th century. A four-panelled entrance door is topped with an oblong fanlight. Originally, it may have been connected to No.132 High Street. The building has a single room, and within a partition is a 16th-century doorway with a depressed four-centred head. Features include a large open fireplace and exposed timber framing.
