Description
Street Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 16th century, with a possible earlier core. It features a three-cell cross-passage entrance plan, with the parlour cell on the left designed in a cross-wing form. The building has one storey and attics, constructed from timber framing and plaster. The main range roof is covered with Roman pantiles, while the cross-wing roof is also pantiled; both roofs would have originally been thatched.
There is one mid-19th century gabled casement dormer, which has a spike finial and pierced carving beneath the bargeboards. The windows are casements with small panes from the 19th century, and two have been replaced with mid-20th century casements. The farmhouse has two 19th century four-panelled entrance doors, one located at the cross-entry and featuring a gabled canopy supported by long carved brackets. The bargeboards on this door and the right-hand gable match those of the dormers. Some unmoulded 16th century framing is visible in the hall, but the interior has not been fully examined.
