Description

Blosses is a house dating from the 17th century, with a likely 16th-century core and alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building has two storeys and a three-cell plan, which probably originally included a cross-passage. It is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a plaintiled roof featuring axial and gable chimneys made of red brick. The house has mid-20th-century small-pane casements and a panelled entrance door. Inside, some 16th and 17th-century framing is visible, including a 4-centred arched doorway typical of the mid-16th century at the east end, as well as signs of a missing associated cross-wing. The west end of the house shows 17th-century work that incorporates 16th-century components, with evidence of diamond-mullioned windows. The roof features clasped purlins from the 18th century.
