Description
No. 25 Ipswich Street is a shop dating from the late 18th century. It is likely timber-framed, rendered, and colourwashed, with a slate roof and three storeys. The shopfront, which dates from the late 19th century, features plate glass and has a side entrance. Consoles on either side indicate the extent of the hood box. The first floor was originally lit by two sash windows, but now has only one late 20th-century casement. The second floor has two early 19th-century sash windows, each with a 2/2 configuration, set within flush frames. The building has a gabled roof with an internal gable-end stack on the north side. Inside, there are boxed bridging beams on the ground floor, but no timber framing is visible from the outside. This building is included for its group value.
