Description

No. 5 Ipswich Street is a shop that was formerly used as accommodation above, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of rendered and colourwashed brick, topped with a roof made of black-glazed pantiles. It stands three storeys high and features a two-window front. The ground floor has a 20th-century glazed shopfront. On the first floor, there are two French windows that open onto small balconies, which are protected by wrought-iron railings. A platband is present at the second floor, which is illuminated by two 3/3 hornless sash windows. The building has a plain projecting eaves cornice beneath a hipped roof. A side stack on the north-west face was removed in the 20th century.
