Description

No. 5 Market Place is a house, likely built in the early 18th century, featuring a timber-framed structure with an early 19th-century gault brick facade. The building has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys tall, divided into three irregular bays. To the right of the center, there is a six-panelled door, with the upper two panels glazed, framed by a timber doorcase. On either side of the door, there is an early 19th-century sash window with 8/8 glazing bars, all set beneath gauged skewback arches. The first floor has similar sash windows, but these are placed under segmental heads. The roof is gabled and features a paired mutule cornice, with internal gable-end stacks on both the right and left sides.
