Description

This is a two-storey house, built in the early 19th century and now used as a store. It is located on the east side of Market Place in Stowmarket. The building is constructed of gault brick, with a slate roof. The façade features two very shallow pilaster strips, one at the right (south) end and another immediately to the right of the front door. The front door itself is a plank door with a plain overlight. Two late 20th-century top-hung casements are positioned to the right of the door, with the rightmost window being a recent addition. Another window is situated under a gauged skewback arch. The first floor has two early 19th-century 6/6 sash windows, each set within a gauged skewback arch. A paired modillion eaves cornice runs along the top of the building, and the roof is gabled, with a ridge stack.
