Description
Scott House is a house with a probable 17th century core that was remodeled in the early 19th century. It has two storeys and three sections: the main 17th century part features two windows, with a set-forward extension to the right from the 17th or 18th century, and a short rearward extension to the left from the 18th century or early 19th century. The house is timber-framed and plastered, showcasing some highly textured plaster on the right-hand range from the 17th or early 18th century, and late 18th or early 19th century herringbone pargetting on the main range. The roofs are covered with plain tiles.
There are two early 19th century axial chimneys made of gault brick, each with twin circular shafts featuring moulded brick with chevron and diaper patterns. The windows are mainly 19th century casements, including one with an arched head and Y-tracery, as well as an early 19th century tripartite small-pane sash. The entrance has a 20th century panelled door, with the upper panel featuring leaded glazing and a 19th century canopy supported by carved brackets. Additionally, there is a second panelled entrance door from the 18th or early 19th century on the left-hand elevation.
