Description
Old Thatch is a house that was originally built as one structure in the early 17th century or possibly the 16th century. It features a three-cell cross-entry plan and has two storeys. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The left-hand cell, which is now part of No. 59, has a slightly lower pitch, suggesting it was constructed at a different time. There is an axial chimney made of 17th-century buff brick, with the upper section rebuilt in mid-20th-century red brick. Additionally, there is an 18th-century external gable chimney made of red brick on the right side. The windows are mid-20th-century casements, with those at No. 61 featuring small panes. The entrance has a mid-20th-century boarded and battened door with a glazed panel, likely located at the cross-entry position. The interior has not been examined.
