Park Farmhouse And Attached Bakehouse Range

Park Farmhouse, originally a farmhouse and now divided into two cottages, likely dates from the 16th century or earlier. It is two storeys high, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped at the left end. There is a central chimney made of red brick from the 17th or 18th century, and an external gable chimney from the 19th century on the right side. The building features three-light casement windows from the early or mid-19th century, with leaded lights, and the ground floor windows have transoms. There are two boarded entrance doors from the 19th century, each with trelliswork open porches. The layout suggests it was originally a three-cell house, with the left-hand entrance indicating the cross-entry; a cell was likely added later, possibly at the left end.

Attached to the farmhouse is a dairy-bakehouse range that is set forward to the right and dates from the 17th century or earlier. This structure is one storey high with attics, also timber-framed and plastered, and features a thatched roof with deep cusped bargeboards from the 19th century. It has internal end chimneys made of red brick from the 19th century and casement windows with leaded lights. The interior of the bakehouse has not been examined. The site includes a partial medieval moat.
