Description
Grange Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse that features a timber frame, which is rendered and lined to imitate ashlar. The roof is pantiled, with glazed black tiles on the front. The building has a three-cell form and was extended to the right in the mid-20th century. It stands two storeys tall and has four windows, primarily 19th-century three-light casements, with some square-leaded glass in the three upper windows. On the ground floor, there is a six-paned sash window on each side of the doorway, along with a slatted dairy window to the left. The entrance is a lobby with a 20th-century semi-glazed door. Inside, there is an internal stack with an original plain shaft. A small 19th-century colourwashed brick wing is located at the rear. Most of the frame is concealed, but the interior features closely spaced plain joists set flat in the hall and parlour. The dairy remains unmodernised, showcasing square ceiling joists and an old brick floor. An oak newel stair in the rear lean-to is likely original. The roof has not been examined.
