Description

Grange Cottage is a house likely dating from the late 16th or 17th century, situated on Saxham Street, Stowupland. It has a two-cell plan with a lobby entrance and is one storey high with attics. The house is timber-framed and has been plastered, with a thatched roof featuring two eyebrow dormers. An axial chimney is present, with the shaft rebuilt in 20th-century red brick. The windows are 20th-century small-pane casements, and there is a boarded door at the lobby entrance position. The right-hand section is slightly higher and is likely a parlour block added to an earlier building. The interior has not been examined.
