Description
The Thatch and two flanking cottages are a terrace of three cottages that were originally built as one house, likely in the 16th century. The building is two storeys high and has a three-cell plan. It features a timber-framed structure with plaster and a thatched roof. There is an axial chimney dating from the late 16th to early 17th century made of narrow buff bricks, which has been recapped in 19th century red brick. Additionally, there is a gable chimney on the right side made of red brick from the 18th or 19th century. The cottages have early 19th century casement windows, with the first storey featuring very small cast iron panes and the ground floor having wooden small-pane casements. The Thatch has a 19th century four-panelled entrance door, while the other cottages have boarded doors. There are small open gabled 19th century porches, two of which have latticework sides. The interior has not been examined.
