Description

Spalls Farmhouse is a former farmhouse built in two stages, with the first stage likely dating from the 15th or 16th century and the second from the late 16th or 17th century. The building has two storeys and a three-cell plan with a lobby entrance. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, topped with a thatched roof featuring a central axial chimney made of red brick. The windows are mainly 19th-century small-pane casements, with exposed and glazed mullioned windows on the first storey. The entrance door is boarded and dates from the 19th century. The hall range on the right side is the earlier section, while a higher parlour block was added to the left in the late 16th or 17th century. The interior has not been examined.
