Description
The County Hotel is an early 19th century brick house that has been painted, with a large hotel block added to the east side in the late 19th century. The building is two storeys tall. The original house features two shallow bays on the south front, each with one window, and a blocked window range in between. The roof is slate. The later hotel addition has two windows on the south front and three windows on the east front. Most of the windows are double-hung sashes with vertical glazing bars and arched panes in the upper sashes. On the south and east fronts, the upper storey windows are flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters. The ground storey includes three pedimented doorways on the east front and a Tuscan pedimented porch on the south front. Additionally, there is a corner entrance with a projecting pedimented hood. The east front features a parapet with a cornice, along with a pediment that has ball finials and an ornamented tympanum.
