Description
25 and 27 St Helen's Street is a late 18th century square red brick house that stands alone. It features a three-storey main block with a basement, connected to a two-storey block at the rear, which is likely of earlier construction. The front of the building has a parapet, mostly covered in cement render, and a raised brick band. The front has three windows, while the west side has two windows, which are mostly blocked. The second storey has double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the lower storeys have single vertical glazing bars. The ground storey includes a central doorway accessed by steps, featuring panelled reveals, half-round columns, a frieze, and a cornice, along with a 20th-century shop window. The roof is slate, and the rear block has a parapet with a tiled hipped roof.
