Description

Nos 29 to 33 on Elm Street are originally three small houses from the 17th to 18th centuries, now faced in brick and featuring shop fronts from the 19th and 20th centuries. Nos 29 and 31 are painted, while No 33 has a parapet. The building has a window arrangement of 2:4:3, with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars. Nos 29 and 31 have flush cased frames, and No 31 features an early 19th-century bow shop window with glazing bars. The roofs are tiled, with No 29 using 20th-century pantiles. This group includes the Church of St Mary at the Elms, No 1 Churchyard (St Mary's Cottage), and Smith's Almshouses.
