Description

This is a mid-19th century grey gault brick house. It is two storeys high with attic and cellar levels, and has a four-window front. The windows are double-hung sashes with single vertical glazing bars, set in plain reveals. A raised brick band runs between the ground and first floors. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a plain, rectangular fanlight, and is framed by a stucco doorcase with moulded architraves, pilasters shaped at the foot, and a pediment supported by console brackets. A 20th-century roof addition, covered in tile hanging, has four windows with vertical glazing bars, and is set back behind a serrated brick eaves line. The house forms a group with numbers 10, 14 to 32 (even), numbers 1 to 11 (odd), number 13 (Old Museum Rooms), and numbers 14 and 16, Arcade Street.
