Description
Nos 14 and 16 Arcade Street is an early to mid-19th century building made of grey gault brick. It stands three storeys tall and has cellars. No 14 features a three-window range, while No 16 has a seven-window range, both with double-hung sash windows that include glazing bars. The windows are set in plain reveals and topped with stucco cornice lintels supported by brackets. The building has a rounded corner where it meets Museum Street, adjacent to the old Museum Rooms. The roofs are slate-covered, and No 14 has a modillioned eaves cornice. These buildings are part of a larger block that includes the Old Museum Rooms on Museum Street. Nos 14 and 16 are grouped with Nos 1 to 11 (odd), No 13 (the old Museum Rooms), No 10, and Nos 14 to 32 (even) Museum Street.
