Description
21 Tower Street is an early 19th-century red brick building that was originally three houses. The doorways have been converted into windows. The building has two storeys and features an overall range of eight windows, arranged in a pattern of five and three. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, set in plain reveals and topped with gauged brick flat arches. The ground floor primarily has three-light windows, while the outer windows in the five-window range have semi-circular arched heads. The three-window range features larger windows, with the centre window on the ground floor, which was originally a doorway, adorned with a stucco architrave and cornice on console brackets. The roofs are covered with slate. Nos 13 to 21 (odd) form a group with the Ipswich Arts Theatre and the Church of St Mary-le-Tower.
