Description
Elim Church is a building with a late 18th century or early 19th century front that is timber-framed and plastered, likely built over an earlier structure. It has been rebuilt behind to serve as a theatre. The building has two storeys and features an eight-window range with double-hung sashes that lack glazing bars, set in flush cased frames with stucco architraves and cornices. At the north end, there are three larger windows topped by a modillion pediment supported on brackets, featuring a stucco roundel in the tympanum. The ground storey includes three doorways: two adorned with pilasters and cornices, and a central doorway with a moulded architrave and keystone, topped by a segmental pediment. The roof is tiled and has five flat-headed dormers, along with a wood modillioned eaves cornice. Elim Church is part of a group that includes Nos 13 to 21 (odd) and St Mary-le-Tower Church.
