Description
No 13 Tower Street is an 18th-century red brick house featuring a plinth and a brick cornice with modillions. The building has two storeys and attics, with a seven-window range of double-hung sashes that include glazing bars set in plain reveals. A raised brick band separates the storeys. The central doorway is framed by a wooden doorcase with pilasters, an ornamented frieze, and a dentilled pediment supported by console brackets. There is a second doorway with a moulded architrave and cornice. A 20th-century small shop window is designed in an 18th-century style with glazing bars. The roofs are tiled and include three flat-headed dormers. Nos 13 to 21 (odd) are part of a group with the Ipswich Arts Theatre and the Church of St Mary-le-Tower.
