Description
Nos 1 and 3 on Museum Street is an early to mid-19th century building made of white brick. It features a panelled parapet, a heavy stucco cornice supported by brackets, and end pilasters. The building has two storeys and a four-window range with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars in the upper storey. The windows are now framed in stone surrounds, and one window at the north end is topped with a stucco cornice on console brackets. A raised band runs across the front between the two storeys. The windows at the south end are three-light. The central section, which includes one window and the doorway, protrudes slightly. The entrance consists of a four-panel double door topped by a rectangular fanlight, all within a stucco doorcase that features plain Tuscan columns, a frieze, and a modillion cornice. At the north end, the ground storey has a 20th-century shop front.
