Description

Bridge Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a core dating back to the 15th century, featuring significant alterations, particularly in the 18th and early 19th centuries. It has an L-shaped plan, with a rear wing added in the 18th or 19th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, with some remnants of panelled plasterwork on the facade. The roof has modern plain tiles at the front and clay pantiles at the rear. The farmhouse stands two storeys high with an attic and has a three-cell layout with a cross-passage entry. There are three windows featuring 18th to 19th century casements, and the doorway includes a six-panel door, with the upper two panels glazed, along with an architrave, frieze, and bracketed hood. It has an internal stack at the front and a gable end stack at the rear.

To the left, there is a single-storey, colourwashed brick addition from the 19th century. Inside, a notable feature is a dais beam carved with double crenellations, beneath which are flower motifs; a small section of another crenellated beam can be seen in the cross-passage. The room to the right of the cross-passage displays exposed framing and joists, along with a large blocked window that has chamfered mullions and five lights. The staircase to the well dates to the early 19th century, and the roof was renewed in the 18th century.
