Description
The Old Rectory is a residential house that was originally built as a rectory in the late 18th century, with an earlier core. It features a timber frame that is plastered and has a plain tiled hipped roof. The building is designed in an L shape, which includes a modern wing at the rear and a similar projecting cross wing at the front right. It has two storeys and an attic, with a six-window range that includes sashes in flush frames with glazing bars. The main entrance has a porch in a classical style supported by Tuscan columns, topped with a shallow semi-circular hood. The entrance doorway is adorned with a moulded architrave and a semi-circular fanlight featuring radial glazing bars, and it has a six-fielded panelled door. There are two red brick stacks on the main ridge. Inside, the entrance hall boasts a plaster vaulted ceiling.
