Description

No. 36 Ash Road is a house that was once two cottages, likely dating back to the 15th century, with later alterations. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a modern roof made of concrete pantiles. It is a single storey with an attic and has a three-cell plan. The house features various casement windows and a mid-20th century gabled porch with a glazed door. To the left side, there is an adjoining conservatory. The property has three dormers, two of which have catslide roofs, while the central dormer is broader and gabled. There is an internal stack and an external stack on the right side. Inside, the building showcases exposed timbering, with very heavy joists on the right side and some remains of arched braces from the main truss.
