Description

This is a two-storey house, later used as a retail showroom, built in the early 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The exterior is rendered over red brick, with a roof of black-glazed pantiles. The front has a late 20th-century projecting plate-glass shop display window on the ground floor. The first floor originally had a different arrangement of windows, but now features three 6/6 horned sash windows replacing the earlier configuration, which included alternating sashes and blind windows. A dormer window is fitted with a 2-light casement. The left return displays a mid-20th-century bowed shop display window, a door to the adjacent property at 54A, and a 3-light casement window on the first floor. A stack belonging to a neighbouring house, demolished in the mid-20th century, remains attached to the right corner. The interior is a 20th-century retail showroom.
